Relieving pain,
immobility, and
muscle dysfunction
WITH NeuroKinetic-Myofascial Realignment Therapy
Areas of Practice
Muscles tied in knots? (Knots form when muscle fibers overly contract and over-release two chemicals: acetylcholine and calcium. The excess of the two chemicals leads to lack of oxygen in that area of a muscle which in turn creates knots.)
Still in pain and looking for pain relief? I work with those who have chronic (recurring for weeks or months) body pain that has injury, structural misalignment, and muscular imbalance origins — the kind of pain a Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, or traditional massage has not changed for the better.
In order to stop the pain, a change in the body’s patterns and signals needs to happen. Encouraging Lymphatic and Blood circulation before working in harmony with your nervous system (Neuro) and muscles (Myo), and more specifically the fibrous component of the muscle called the “fascia,” new patterns are developed.
Pregnant and in pain? Low back pain does not have to be a “pregnancy symptom.” Through Neuro~Myofascial Integrated therapies, the low back pain, leg pain, and shoulder pain (you get the idea) can be alleviated.
Scar Therapy
Scar tissue refers to thick, fibrous tissues that form in place of healthy tissues that have been damaged. Scar therapy addresses the damaged fibers of the affected area and aims to bring the best circulation possible to the nerves and tissues.
Scar tissue, muscle knots, and strains create dysfunction within our muscular system. Dysfunction breeds pain. Scar Therapy combined with Myofascial Realignment Therapy restores function, normalizes muscular structure, remedies scar tissue, promotes tissue repair, and most importantly, relieves pain.
Integrated Therapies
Imbalance in the system is the perfect environment for pain and dysfunction. Bringing balance to the body and mind helps to alleviate these symptoms. Using a variety of modalities will provide you with a personalized ReVive Bodyworks program that will bring the balance back to your life.
Move Your Body
Is your body not moving like it once did? Are workouts more challenging? Does it take you longer to find your run groove? Yoga poses not easily accessible? Or do you just simply want to be able to bend to tie your shoes with no pain?
Pain will inhibit healthy movement. Pain and discomfort are your body’s way of telling you to change the patterns, or the pain will continue. Using NeuroKinetic Therapy and MyoFascial integrated therapy techniques will help to change the fascia patterns which will help the body move with more ease.
Now, let’s talk YOGA! Practicing yoga will increase the results of Myofascial Therapy. If you’re not sure about how, what, or where to start doing yoga, let’s connect. I will guide you through a personalized yoga practice that encourages healing and fluid function in your joints and muscles.
Delivering an individualized yoga practice to bring you flexibility, strength, and stability to the joints and muscles as well as encourage a relaxed state of mind. The yoga that is designed for you will promote healthy myofascial function in the body and aid in creating new neural pathways that alleviate dysfunction.

Your NKT-Myofascial Release Therapy Session will be done on a massage table. During the session, you will be asked to shift positions to allow better access to the area being worked.
It’s important to be dressed appropriately (sports shorts and sports bra or tank top for females). You may also be asked to make specific movements to see where we need to work, activate muscles that are inhibited, or to retrain your movement patterns.
NKT Myofascial Therapists work with their hands and forearms, often in long slow deep strokes or sustained pressure, lengthening and freeing restrictions in the connective tissue. Use of hot stones, hot towels, Neurostim MPS™, or other tools of the trade may be used to assist the release of taut tissue.
Your session can take about 75 minutes, including an intake and postural or mobility assessments.
It’s normal to be a little sore or tired or even a bit bruised after each session. Try to take it easy. The goal is to allow your body to assimilate the new patterns to help alleviate pain.
Some clients benefit from Heat or Cold therapy, light stretching or yoga, taking a walk or bike ride to aid the integration.

Honestly, most of the time it can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes, the therapy can feel like pins and needles, or a slight burning sensation or a deep sustained pressure. Each client will experience a different sensation during the therapy session. I work within the boundaries of your nervous system.
What’s most important is afterwards! Clients generally report feeling a deep release after such sensations pass.
Sometimes, Day 2 or 3 after the session will feel a bit more intense, but not always.
Please know that YOU (the client) always has control of the session and the amount of pressure used. NKT MFR is not a quick fix: it is slow and mindful work. This allows your Central Nervous System time to integrate the changes which is calming to the Parasympathetic nervous system, even for those who are sensitive to touch.

Implementing muscular and structural change in the body via Neurokinetic Myofascial Release techniques takes some time. Think of like this: How long have you been having the pain? What was the environment of the system BEFORE the pain showed up? Pain and dysfunction is sometimes infused in many layers. We need to peel the layers away to get to the root cause of your pain. The number, frequency, and spacing of treatments depends on your personal needs and goals, as well as how your body sees and integrates the treatment changes.
Each session is thoughtfully organized to make our time and your healing efficient. My goal is to work on every area that holds pain and dysfunction. This requires to find the muscles that are inhibited (and activate them) and find the muscles that are facilitating the dysfunction (and release them).
This restores the functional movement and mobility in your body. How many sessions depends on where you have restrictions: can you twist side to side with little effort? Can you easily bend to tie your shoes or pick something up off the floor? Can you walk or run smoothly? Can you mountain bike with no pain? Playing with the kids or grandkids? What movement can improve your Pickleball game?
What we work on differs slightly person to person, depending on where you have restrictions. And this will determine your Plan of REVIVING your body.

A NeuroKinetic Myofascial Release Therapy Session is NOT a typical massage. What sets this therapy apart is that the client will be moved into different positions during the session.
Comfort is the main thing to keep in mind. Because there will be some movement, it is recommended that your clothing not be too tight nor too loose. Some people are comfortable in sports shorts, and for women a sports bra or tank top. Other options are bathing suits, or what you might wear to a yoga class (though the thick spandex is one material that is very difficult to work through).
